Description
This is one of the few remaining wood frame buildings constructed shortly after the fire of 1886; its construction marked the shift of the business district away from Gastown to Hastings Street. A prominent square bay that marks its corner location is one of its notable design features. Built for the St. Andrew’s and Caledonian Society, it was the site of Vancouver’s first grand ball.
