Description

Completed in 1907, Lord Roberts School is identical to Seymour School in Strathcona. They Both were designed by W.T. Whiteway during an era of city expansion, which strained the existing school system. Lord Roberts is an example of the Classical Revival architectural style. The structure features yellow buff brick facing, granite base blocks, carved lintels, sill and string courses. The entry towers give vertical emphasis and prominence in a largely low-rise area. Seismic upgrading of Lord Roberts was completed in 1996, retaining the original 1907 building and gymnasium.
