Description

This is an excellent example of an early storefront in Yaletown. Built in 1910 by builder Irwin Carter & Co., this brick and concrete warehouse was designed by Honeyman & Curtis for Frank Darling & Co.

In 1924, the H.J. Heinz Company opened their Vancouver branch at this location. The large windows made for an attractive shop front at the ground level.

By 1952, the H.J. Heinz Company had moved out of the city to continue operations on Grandview Highway.

A roof was added over the interior courtyard and renovations were done to accommodate newer businesses such as the current restaurant, but the façade still resembles the original building.
