Description

Research on this house shows water application was done in 1890, and a building permit was recorded in 1901 for a frame dwelling, but it is believed this beautifully restored Queen Anne style house was built around 1890, making it one of the oldest houses in Vancouver.

John Roland Stitt, a retired dried goods merchant, lived here with his family in the early 1900’s. From 1910 to 1920, Joseph McTaggart, of McTaggart and Sons grocers, owned the house. McTaggart and Sons Grocers was located at the corner of Granville and Robson.
