Description
This five-storey brick building was built as a warehouse for the Milne Produce Company in 1912. It was designed by architect Thomas Hooper, and built by Booker, Campbell & Whipple during a time when many warehouses were being built in Yaletown in close proximity to the CPR rail yards.
The location of Yaletown made it very convenient and cheaper for company to ship their goods. Eventually companies started moving their operations to the suburbs and closer to highways as trucking became more popular that rail.
This building is a typical example of the types of warehouses built during the early life of Yaletown.
