Description

This 1913 warehouse built by George B. Baker is typical of the utilitarian buildings that spread through Yaletown during the early 1900’s.

The building’s Mainland Street side features an original classic ‘Yaletown’ canopy projecting over its loading bays – the neighbourhood’s signature architectural element.

The internal structure is a heavy timber frame consisting of massive first growth Douglas fir columns and beams up to two feet thick. The original owner-occupants were Donald and Russell Gray, brothers who ran an investment firm.

The upper floors of the building were converted to residences in 1996.
