Description
This building was originally a warehouse supported by first growth Douglas fir beams and columns. It was built for the Ellison Milling and Elevator Company in 1929. In this period the architectural firm of Gardiner and Mercer was one of the more enduring and prolific in BC.
As part of the second generation of Yaletown warehouses, the building features a concrete facade with stepped parapet. It retains its true divided wood windows and the original brick paving on its Mainland Street loading dock and, on the interior, its large columns and massive beams almost two feet across.
In 2006 the building was expanded and upgraded as part of its conversion to residential use.
