Description
Built in 1904 by Thomas Hunter, the owner, architect and builder, this Edwardian house continues to represent the charm and elegance of its era.
Elizabeth Olding, a public school teacher at Mount Pleasant, Fairview and Aberdeen Schools, owned the house from 1905 until her death in 1937. Elizabeth’s sister Katherine, a music teacher, continued to live here until 1948.
In the early 1940’s Katherine began renting rooms in the house, and it continued to be used for rooms or apartments for many years. It is now the restored Barclay House Bed & Breakfast.
