Description
Built in 1911-1912 by T.A. Allan and his brother (the Allan Brothers), the building was called the Allan Block until 1921 when it became the Henderson Block. From 1924 to 1928, it was renamed Allan Block, until it became Highland Block in 1929.
The building was designed with two storefronts on Commercial. The storefront at 1932 was home to multiple stores until 1943. The corner store front held a real estate agency, then a dry cleaners, furniture stores, and finally cafes.
By 1999, the apartments had been home to 497 residents.
