Description
Built in 1909 by G. Churchill, 1946 Ferndale Street is a Vancouver Craftsman house with a full porch with four piers. Side dormers and a balcony are features on the second storey. One of the earliest residents was John Enright, in 1915, then Gabriel Bourdon- a ‘mach’ at City Water Works- in 1919.
Ferndale Street was previously a part of Keefer Street until was was renamed as Ferndale in 1929. Keefer Street was named after George Alexander Keefer who worked as a surveyor for the Canadian Pacific Railway, before opening a private engineering business.
