Description

Built in 1911, 1975 Ferndale Street is a two-storey Edwardian house with exposed rafters, full porch and bay window extending to the side of the building. One of the earliest residents was Henry Robinson, listed as a ‘mach’ for Ross & Howard Iron Works Co. in 1915 and in 1917, as a ‘mach’ for Fowler Machine Co.

Ferndale Street was previously a part of Keefer Street until its renaiming in 1929 under By-law 2014. Keefer street was named after George Alexander Keefer, who worked as a supervisor for the Canadian Pacific Railway before opening a private engineering business.
