Description
A permit was issued in March 1912 to owner/architect/builder William Lockie for three two-storey frame residences value $7500 (2026, 2032 and 2038 Macdonald Street). Currently 2026 and 2038 Macdonald Street are on the register.
This 1913 Vancouver Craftsman style home, like many on the street, have a front porch and ornamental brackets, and original-style detailing. In 1913 a Thomas R. Enderby is listed as its occupant.
He was a clerk for the BCER- British Columbia Electric Railway. The BCER Steveston-Vancouver line operated on W 4th Avenue just around the corner after 1905 and contributed to the suburban Vancouver neighbourhoods’ creation and building boom. Much of the houses in this part of Kitsilano on the register, were built between 1912-1915.
