2038 Macdonald St

A permit was issued in March 1912 to owner/architect/builder William Lockie for three two-storey frame residences value $7500 (2026, 2032 and 2038 Macdonald Street). Currently 2026 and 2038 Macdonald are on the register.

This 1914 Vancouver Craftsman style home, like many on the street, have a front porch and ornamental brackets, timbered-gable and original-style detailing.

In 1914, Morris Levine is listed as its occupant.

The BCER Steveston-Vancouver line operated on W 4th Avenue just around the corner after 1905 and contributed to the suburban Vancouver neighbourhoods’ creation and building boom. Much of the houses in this part of Kitsilano on the register, were built between 1912-1915.
