Description

Along with 2068 West 5th, 2062 West 5th Avenue was built in 1910 by Vernon Bros., Ltd. and designed by Cambie & Knapp. The house first appears on city directories in 1911, with the first resident of 2062 West 5th listed as Robert Robertson, a broker.

2062 West 5th Avenue served as the residence of numerous people in the early 20th Century. T.he first long term resident was Rodrick F. Johnston, who worked for Vancouver Milling & Grain Co. Johnston lived in the house from 1916 until 1925.

Other resident of the house included labourers, longshoremen, salesmen, military, and drivers.
