Description

Built in 1911 by John F. Ross, 2216-2218 St. George Street first appears in city directories in 1912. 2216 has Alex Munro, a contractor, listed as the resident, while 2218 has George W. Carruthers, a tailor for William Dick Ltd., as resident. The houses residents have included bank clerks, a mining engineer, a postman, and a blacksmith.

2216-2218 St. George Street was featured in Michael Kluckner’s book Vanishing Vancouver (1990: 92-93).

In 1998, the building received an interpretive heritage plaque from the City of Vancouver
