Description

This Edwardian style house was originally owned and built by Louis Leduc. The Vancouver Archives holds no record of a building permit however, a water permit was applied for in 1911 suggesting the house was constructed around this time. While the house has changed since the first resident George Howe walked its halls, it retains much of its early century charm.

The house’s notable architectural features, such as the gambrel roof and restored tin ceiling, provide contrast to some of the modern renovations. The house was converted in 1951 from the original single family floor plan to three individual suites. The house remained this way for 40 years until the owners decided to restore the original lay out.

2451 Eton Street was a stop on the 2007 VHF Open Vancouver Heritage House Tour.
