Story Submission:
In the 1940’s, V. Deacon’s family moved into the top floor, one-bedroom apartment of 2456 W 1st Ave. Her father worked as a typesetter and proofreader with the Vancouver News Herald. She recalls the stunning views from the front room's picture window where she watched the Queen Mary sail out through English Bay riding very low in the water - loaded with troops for WWII. Memories recounted by V. Deacon.
