Description
Built in 1911 by Walter J. Harrington, this two-storey frame dwelling house has a stone foundation, and, in 1918, it underwent repairs and saw the addition of a garage by Lewis H. Vernon. The 1911 permit lists Harrington as the owner, architect, and builder. 2546 West 3rd avenue first appears on Vancouver directories in 1913, with the resident being Anthony B. Melby [Malby], of M.B. Anthony and Co. Malby stayed until 1917. In 1918, William J. Shortt filed a permit for a garage addition, a manager at Millens B.C. Ltd. Shortt lived at the house until 1931. 2546 West 3rd Avenue was the subject of a Heritage Revitalization Agreement in 2015.
