Description
Built at the same time as 2616, 2628, and 2634 West 5th Avenue by Waghorn, Gwynn, and Co., this building was completed in 1914 and is a good example of a Craftsman style house in Kitsilano. It is clad with wood shingles and has a full front porch.
The peak of the gable end contains half timber detailing and pebbled stucco atop a square bay window on decorative consoles. The porch gable repeats the details of the main gable. The house is part of a grouping of buildings dating from the same period with similar design features. A garage was added in 1913.
In 1999, the house was repainted a historical colour scheme with the assistance of a VHF True Colours grant. The owners in 1999 also received a City of Vancouver Heritage Award of Recognition for the rehabilitation of 2622 West 5th Avenue.
