Description
2761 West 3rd Avenue was built in 1910 by W.H. Wooley for S.E Periard. The building permit was issued to Periard for 2731 West 3rd Avenue, legal for this location. The early street number ‘2731’ probably became ‘2761 ‘ early on, and matches street directory.
2731 first appears on directories in 1911, and was listed as being vacant. 2761 appears in the 1912 directory as the residence of Adolphus J. Periard, a clothier. It was vacant from 1913-1915. In 1916 it was the residence of Oscar F. Kutzchan, a service manager at Pierce-Arrow Motor Company, a motor vehicle manufacturer known best for its expensive luxury cars, that was active from 1901 until 1938.
