2876 W 3rd Ave

The house at 2876/2878 W 3rd Ave was damaged by a fire and rebuilt in 1992 to fit the neighbourhood’s character. This newer duplex structure incorporates some Vancouver Craftsman features such as the curved walls on the upper porch and the shake cladding on the upper floors of the house.

The original house was first occupied by Chase E. Falner, a student at Wade, Whealler, McQuarrie and Martin. It was likely built as a rental, as occupants changed frequently.
