Hazelwood Hotel

Built in 1911, J.J. Frantz was the contractor for the $75,000 building, containing 120 rooms, main floor retail, and a basement that was intended to be fitted out as a barbers. The facade of the building sits on a pair of huge steel ‘I’ beams embedded in concrete doric-style columns.

The hotel was awarded a City of Vancouver Heritage Award of Recognition in 2017 recognizing the exterior restoration and reinstatement of lost architectural detail, including the ground floor storefronts.
