Description

Built at the same time as 3556 W 1st Avenue in 1911-1912 by E.R. McConkey, 3550 W 1st Avenue has a characteristic tall and alrge gable room with a balcony and a large arch over the porch, giving the house a ‘sad face’ look. The house underwent repairs including reroofing, repairing the porches, the soffit brackets, and the gutters with the assistance of a 2013 VHF Restore It grant. The house was repainted its original colour scheme in 2013 with the assistance of a 2013 VHF True Colours grant.
