Description

This Beaux Arts style structure was designed by John Smith Davidson Taylor and built between 1911-1912 by Ferro-Concrete Co.

The first occupant was the Canada Permanent Mortgage Corporation, who opened a branch in Vancouver in 1892. The corporation contributed to the establishment of Victory Square as a primary corporate-commercial district in the early 1900s.

• bevelled mirrors
• granite facades capped with sculpture of winged beavers (the corporation’s logo)
