Description

This building was originally the Nye’s service station built in 1923. It commemorates the early industrial history of the area. The distinctive porte cochere (originally a gasoline service station) marks the apex of the triangular site, funtions as a gateway to the industrial area immediately to the east, and provides a distinctive neighbourhood landmark.

450 West 2nd Avenue is listed on the Vancouver Heritage Register in the B-category.

The building is now occupied by Kearney Funeral Services, which has been family owned and operated since Thomas Kearney opened his doors in 1908.
