There is a 1912 building permit for a $2,000 on this property. The builder was J. McBrien. The 1912 city directory lists Johnson McBrien at 668 W 17th Avenue. He lived with a brother Moses, who also built a house in this neighbourhood (865 W 18th).

This property does not appear in city directories at the time, and is possible that the street address was different at the time.
