Description

This Tudor Revival home was built for dentist Dr. Brett Anderson in 1930. It is a fine example of the style and features leaded glass windows and a matching coach house. The front presents twin symmetrical gables and a Gothic arch entry.

The architectural firm Hodgson & Simmonds is also remembered for the BCER showroom at Granville and Dunsmuir, whose façade is a protected heritage structure. Hodgson is remembered for designing the building housing the Only Seafood Restaurant, and H. H. Simmonds for designing local movie theatres such as the 1930 Stanley Theatre.

In 2005, the lot was subdivided and the Anderson House and its brick fence became protected heritage property.
