Description
This eastern half building was built 1906 on the site of the former Gold Hotel. It was operated by Edward Lipsett as a sail and tent factory.
Prominent local architects, Dalton and Eveleigh designed the Lipsett Building. They were highly regarded for the quality of their commercial, industrial and institutional buildings.
The 1906 part of the building was constructed of brick with wood frame. In 1912, the western half of the building was built – almost identical in look but built with poured-in-place concrete walls.
