Description
Despite the unified appearance of this facade, it is actually the result of four separate construction projects which took place between 1913 and 1950; the architects, Burke, Horwood and White, designed the building to suit future requirements. The cream coloured terra cotta facing and the giant order colonnade were repeated in the company’s Winnipeg, Calgary, and Victoria stores, and established the architectural identity of the Hudson’s Bay for many years.
