Description
This two storey classic frame house was built in 1913. It is part of a cluster of similar early houses (see 687 W 19) Many of the original elements remain: a large porch, shingles, brackets and dentils. In 1920, a $70 garage was built. The original occupant of the house was Alfred Nelson, a cooper (barrel maker). T
here also appears to have been a rear dwelling on the property. In 1913, the occupant of the “rear” was Ernest Wood, an employee at the Vancouver Engineering Works.
