This 7 unit row house was built in 1908 by contractor George Elliott. 701 Hawks became the East End Grocery run by Albert Pomfret. From 1920 to 1941 this was the Royal Grocery, which was run by a series of Japanese Canadian families.
In 2002 this section of Hawks Avenue was voted Vancouver’s most beautiful block.
