Description

The Hotel Georgia is a twelve-storey Georgian Revival style luxury hotel built in 1926-1927. The hotel’s designers were R.T. Garrow and John Graham Sr., the latter a prominent Seattle architect.

The building has played an important role in Vancouver social life. It has been host to many diplomats and distinguished guests in its almost 90 year history, such as Nat King Cole, Elvis Presley and Queen Elizabeth.

In 2007, the hotel was operating as the Crowne Plaza Hotel Georgia. It was sold by owner Allied Hotel Properties Inc and underwent renovation. In the process of the renovation, its 313 rooms were reduced to 155. The interior design for the renovation was by Toronto-based design firm, Munge Leung. The hotel reopened in 2011 as the Rosewood Hotel Georgia

The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
