Description

This house was built on or before 1894, when it was hooked up to the city’s water supply. The house is of heritage value because it is a good example of Victorian style architecture in the area. It features clapboard siding with patterned shingles and a cross-gabled roof.

David MacLean, a local carpenter, was the first resident of this house, living here until 1908. After MacLean left, the house passed hands several times before being home to Luigi Bevilacqua for four years between 1928 and 1932. Bevilacqua was a local grocer operating his grocery and confectionery at 799 Keefer – the site of today’s Wilder Snail Neighbourhood Grocery – from 1926 until 1935.
