Description

This house was originally in a group of 4 identical flat front houses. They were possibly built for the speculative housing market of the day.

This house has changed addresses over the years between 879, 881 and 883 Broughton Street. In 1912, it was the home of Mrs. Margaret McLean, the widow of Vancouver’s first mayor, Malcolm McLean.

This house is now part of Barclay Heritage Square, a “park with houses.” The house was renovated / restored by Allan Diamond, architect, in 1985 as non-market housing.
