Description

The heritage value of the Leslie House resides largely in its historic, cultural and architectural significance.

Built in 1888, the Leslie House is one of the earliest surviving examples of single family housing in the downtown Vancouver (formerly addressed at 1380 Hornby Street).

This modest Queen Anne was built by George Leslie, a plasterer. The family lived here until 1948, and also owned and occupied a small house at the rear, which he had built for his daughter.

It was moved from 1380 Hornby Street in 2018 to accommodate development on the site and after being refurbished, it was placed back on site facing Pacific Boulevard.

To learn what happened to the Lane house, see the entry for 1117 Pendrell St.
