Description
This house is part of a cluster of two well preserved Craftsman Bungalow style houses on a block with considerable heritage interest. See also 912 W 22. The house is shingled. It has leaded glass, a dentil trim on the porch gable, and heavy Craftsman brackets.
There is an April 1914 permit for a $2,800 house on this property. The architect was G.P. Findlay and the builders were Pugsleys. This could refer to George Pugsley, contractor, who lived at 941 W. 22.
The owner was E. Hoag. This is likely William E. Hoag of Robinson and Hoag, who had a hardware store at 4124 Main (see 912 W. 22nd). Robinson, his business partner, appears to have lived next door in 912.
In 1915, the occupant was Richard Morgan, financial agent. In 1919, the owner of the property was J. Dunsmuir, who did $100 of repairs.
